We Care About The Missing Black Girls In DC, Do You?

Over the past few days, 7 black girls have gone missing around the Washington D.C area. More than that 64,000 black women and girls are currently missing in the U.S. Unfortunately, it feels like little is being done. Social media has changed how we follow news and even how we play a part. This story is so under-represented no #hashtag is even associated with the horrific truth.

The fact that they are all in the same area should have the media buzzing. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. I am willing to bet you have never seen many of these photos or even heard their stories. Our lives have value and the apparent need to continuously remind the rest of the world is upsetting. What can we do? Our social media presence is powerful that means we need to get the word out. We need to not let these beautiful little girls be forgotten, ever the same way they did with JonBenet Ramsey

You can also follow the DC Police Department they are working with the public to locate these missing children. Several missing children have already been recovered with the help of the public.
