Cheap Dorm Room Ideas

In College, we are all on a budget but who wants to look like we’re on a budget! I am always looking for ways to cut corners and save money. I love to decorate my dorm room and make it feel like home for my short time there.

So, I have put together a few ideas that will help you make your dorm room feel like “home sweet home” but on a budget of course!

  1. Switch your Room furniture around

All dorm rooms come with furniture, first ask your dorm resident assistant or director to see if you’re allowed to move things around. Next, you can use to see different ways you can arrange your dorm room. You can search your school/dorm on the site and add some different accessories to the room as well! Try it out!

  1. Thrift Store!

They are not only good for clothes, but thrift stores have home decor things as well. Find some old picture frames, vases and etc to use to decorate your room. Then when you get home, figure out ways you can make it your own!

  1. Collect Bottles & Jars

You can collect glass bottles and jars to decorate for your room. They can be used for pencil holders on your desk, vases for flowers or makeup brushes!

  1. Ask Folks in your Community

I have lots of things in my dorm room from folks in my church/community. Let people know what you need or what you’re looking for, there just maybe someone who will give you exactly what you want and maybe free of charge. Then you can ask if you can add your own flair to what they’ve given you to make it your own.

  1. Pinterest

will be your best friend when it comes to dorm decor for cheap! There are tons of DIY ideas to help you make your room super nice and organized!

Hope this was helpful!
