Doesn’t The Bible Say “Come As You Are”

Back in the day, you would never come to church with the same high heels you wore to the club last night. Or you would not have your shoulders showing or your dress shorter than those fingertips. For guys, you would have to wear a white shirt, black slacks and maybe a suit jacket, now hoodie and sneakers are acceptable. Nowadays, you are starting to see people utilizing the saying “come to church as you are.

(We went from looking like the pastor’s wife to the pastor’s mistress)

(From the pastor to the youth pastor)

Megan Good’s blue gown at the 2013 BET Awards Show is a prime example of the church condemning someone for their chosen attire.

Megan Good is married to preacher Devon Franklin, and as a preacher’s wife, she has received criticism for her racy outfits on the red carpet. The typical image of a pastor’s wife is a dress, three-inch heels, and a church hat. So when Megan Good showed up to present a Christian music award in a sexy dress, Christians everywhere showed their distaste, especially in the Black church community. You may watch Megan Good’s interview on Wendy Williams explaining her reason for wearing such a controversial dress to an awards show. Meagan Good defending her choice to wear risqué attire for presenting a Christian award.

It’s a shame that the bible says come as you are, but Christians dismiss the very words that tell you to welcome everyone with open arms. In order to get the youth into the church, we must adapt to this new generation so that they feel comfortable and acceptable by the church.

Here are some church outfits from 2016, do you approve or not?

It is true more often than not we tend to over look the very things th word is trying to depict. Be you in all your fullest and that is all that matter to the one on th throne.

This is taken out of context. The Bible is not talking about appearances. The Bible is talking about your sins. Although one should be ashamed coming to church like that. People have six days of the week to look like a prostitute n yet they wait to Sunday to disrespect God.. Smh. But once again the Bible is talking about the inner man.
