[Full Video] HBCU Graduate Earledreka White Fears For Her Life; Officer Cleared
Earledreka White was recently arrested for allegedly resisting arrest, so the charge reads. She called 911 after being pulled over for crossing a double white line. The police officer who pulled her over was aggressive and Ms. White feared for her life in the wake of numerous accounts of unarmed people of color dying by the hands of the police. Ms. white called 911 explaining that she feared for her life and if another police officer could be sent to her location.
“I would like another officer to come out here,” she tells the dispatcher in an audio of the call and encounter. “My heart is racing. I’m really afraid.”
“This man is twisting my arm,” she tells the dispatcher. “Please get your hands off of me. What is wrong with you? … Why are you doing this? I haven’t done anything.”
Zack Fertitta Ms. White’s lawyer plans to press charges and attempt to get her resisting arrest charges dropped. See the video showing the escalation of the situation.
Police officials investigated White’s claim back in April and found “no wrongdoing.” Metro Police Chief Vera Bumpers told the Chronicle in a statement the responding officer did “everything reasonable within the law.” They seem to always be with the comfort zone of what the law allows, may be time to change the law.
