GSU Alum, Media Mogul Kim Ford, Writes “The Success Mindset”: How To NOT Give Up After A Setback

Media mogul, Kim Ford, is a Grambling native and a 1992 graduate of the University who has been working as a “digital diva”, creating new opportunities daily for herself and others for over a decade.

After working day in and day out to become the publisher of JubileeMag.com, she swam into the deep in to prove that minority women have a significant impact in online and digital media, as entrepreneurs, motivational speakers, and authors.

In Ford’s new e-book,  The Success Mindset: How To NOT Give Up After A Setback, she gives her life story in a nutshell, by sharing 7 ways to get everything you want in business and life.

“I share how to not give up when your world is crumbling, ” Ford said. “Even while going through a tough time, you can train your mind to think successfully. It’s a skill set that must be developed.”

Speaking of development, when Ford first began her journey in creating JubileeMag.com and her first book “The Success Mindset”  she had no background in journalism or media, therefore, she had to research and educate herself on how to go about developing an online magazine and build an audience.

The magazine helps individuals to reach the mindset of “come with the truth or don’t come at all.” JubileeMag.com ignites a solid network of national and international audiences, all fervently on one accord with the same mind, purpose, and love.

With a similar focus, a few of the key components in the “The Success Mindset” relate to business, self-love, relationships, wealth, and personal development.

Ford was also able to get a little transparent about personal issues and setbacks she’s had to overcome. As well as teaching entrepreneurs, entertainers and your everyday grinders how to get their gifts into the world with media and mindset tips.

Three questions to ask yourself before knowing this book is just right for YOU are: Do you want more for your life but don’t know how to get there? Do you talk yourself out of (or let others talk you out of) dreaming big?, and last but not least, Are you tired of playing and thinking small?

It takes a certain mindset to move forward when your world is falling apart and Ford said the only way she made it is because of faith, hard work, and the right mindset.

The author explained that even when her personal life wasn’t going as she planned, she was resilient enough to still pursue her dreams.

“It wasn’t easy, but I knew I was destined for more,” Ford said. “I refused to let the pain of my current situation, cause me to cancel what I know God put me on earth to do.”

Ford comes from very humble beginnings, but it all goes back to her having a successful mindset. The first major event she covered was the 2007 BET Hip-Hop Awards. Ford has now interviewed industry and ministry greats like Tyler Perry, Danny Glover, Janelle Monae, Kim Kardashian, Tye Tribbett, BrandyFonzworth Bentley, Mary MaryChris Tucker, Deitrick & Damita Haddon, Angela & Vanessa Simmons and the list goes on!

When you have big goals, you can’t wait for someone to put you on. And you can’t wait for the stage. You have to KNOW what you’re worth, ask for it, and keep growing.  Use The Success Mindset” as a guide to get you where you belong and dominate in your industry.

“Mindset is everything,” the Grambling native said. ” I don’t care what your current situation looks like. Keep showing up. Keep improving. Keep learning. The ones who are ignoring you now will swear they supported you from the beginning.

In addition to JubileeMag.com and “The Success Mindset”, Ford expanded her brand by launching KimAcademy.co. On the site, you can purchase her book, take her master classes about personal development and media (in front of the camera and behind the laptop), watch her webinars, listen to her podcast and buy her products.

These accomplishments did not happen overnight for Ford. She was in various organizations and had plenty of mentors that have helped groom her into a successful leader in her industry.

For every person who has asked me how to start a blog, how to get their brand more exposure without a publicist, how to stay motivated and how to get into a successful mindset to hit their goals, this is the place to be. * Tag a go-getter, dreamer, doer, artist, singer, musician, dancer, choreographer, author, entrepreneur, 9-5er and your mom and dad, cause we’re about to get to werk!
