Meet Tytianna Smith 4.6 GPA, 29 ACT Score, 1.7 Million In Scholarships And Headed To HBCU Norfolk State University

Tytianna Smith is a graduating senior from Lafayette High School in Lafayette, Alabama. She applied to 50 Schools and was accepted into all but one, her top choice. But as she tells it God was guiding her decision and lead her where she was meant to be, which turns out to be none other than HBCU Norfolk University.

Last year Tytianna created several goals for herself. She stated “I attend a high school that is currently on the failing school list” “I wanted to show that just because we attend a failing school we are not failing students.” “I wanted to lift the standard.”

“One test does not define you, you are not a failing student”

Serving as a Page for State Representative Bob Fincher

Tytianna was accepted into every school she applied to except one, Stanford which was at the time was her first choice. She stated that she believe’s in the power of faith and her relationship with God. Tytianna was faced with the same choice we all have asked ourselves after graduation PWI or HBCU. She stated, “I wanted both for different reasons but was unsure what was right for me.” “I follow God & I don’t care what anyone says.” “I thought he was leading me to Stanford but I’m confident the final destination was Norfolk and Stanford was just a part of the journey.”

Tytianna has 1.7 million received scholarships from every college she applied as well as several outside scholarships. She also served as Co-Drum Major this year and helped prepare the entire band without a band coach for 5 games. How Sway!

She even helped Co-found “Warriors of Women” an army God placed in her heart that helps women defy the double standards of this world. Her friend Angel Woody suggested they march and together, with God’s help, these are the results (see video below.) Needless to say, this young woman is destined for great things and remarkably at a young age has decided to walk with faith along this journey.

From a Book of Poems RATI – Rise Above The Ignorance by Tytianna Smith

Our God defies logic

Science can’t explain Him and minds can’t contain Him

He disrupts the human thought process by revealing a glimpse of His supernatural power

And He performs miracles in the most peculiar, strategic ways to strengthen our faith and ability to comprehend things on a spiritual level

Our God defies logic

Science can’t explain Him and minds can’t contain Him

He disrupts the flow of the natural realm through miracles that glorify Him

As an impartation of One of the divine three

He is the One who parted the Red Sea

And opened blind eyes to see

While commanding the mute to speak and the dead to breathe

He is the One who said “take up thy bed and walk”

Our God defies logic

Science can’t explain Him and minds can’t contain Him

Who knew that 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish would feed 5,000 people? …Not including the women and children

The disciples didn’t even believe that 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish could feed 5,000 people. …Not including the women and children

I find it ironic that Bread was breaking bread for hungry people

And it is the blood He shed that would save hungry people

I find it ironic how fish was divided amongst the people

And how He makes us fishers of men to go out to all of the people

And He fed 5,000 people…Not including the women and children

Since our God is perfect, He is purposeful with every detail

For this miracle was not only performed through the breaking

But it was manifested in the making of the five loaves and 2 fish that fed 5,000 people … Not including the women and children

It was a small child , a little boy who offered his lunch

Which his mother made ; I have no doubt about it

As you can see Jesus wouldn’t perform the miracle

If it wasn’t for the people who weren’t counted

in the 5,000

For God uses the uncounted, humble, misused , and strange

To reveal His power in miraculous ways

He takes the rejects of time

And makes them projects of eternity

It has to be inexplicable , in order to be a miracle

Our God defies logic

Science can’t explain Him and minds can’t contain Him

Thank you for highlighting the wonderful accomplishments of this young lady Tytianna who has chosen above ALL, my alma mater Norfolk STATE University located in the historic city of Norfolk, Virginia! “BEHOLD, THE GREEN & GOLD!”

I just want to send a gentle caution to proofread and edit your articles before they are posted. There were several errors that marred the enjoyment of reading about Tytianna’s choice to attend Norfolk STATE University. I would also like to have read what, other than her faith, led her to choose an HBCU (generational, distance, cultural familiarity, academic programs, band program, etc.) over all other schools.

Best wishes to Tytianna in accomplishing her goals, and making her family and her future alma mater proud! Go Spartans, BEHOLD!

Stanford has really stringent selection criteria, everyone applying has high GPAs and really high ACT Scores. Not taking anything away from her accomplishments but this years avg ACT score was 33 for Stanford. They accept only 5% of applicants.

Unfortunately, really unfortunate that the writer of this article has NO EDITOR, or review… “falling school list” vs failing, grammatical errors, and journalist errors of accuracy… on an article about an amazing ‍ student… now isn’t that a shame?
