Pushing The Culture Forward With Blake Simon

This morning (December 27) , I had the chance to speak with Blake Simon (@blakemotivates), author of  “The Transition Guide & Journal”, and Founder of BSA (Blake Simon and Associates).

Before becoming a graduate from Prairie View A&M University, Blake worked as a financial aid counselor while also taking on the role as a full-time student. “Having these experiences as an undergrad and a counselor actually led me too writing this book” says Blake. Another example how a HBCU helped develop a young man and gave him an opportunity, which ultimately lead to his passion.

Needless to say, many youth do not have mentors or just someone who cares about their future. The younger generation is in need of guidance and that is why Blake started this encouraging movement. “My audience is mainly geared towards professors, counselors, Universities, High school and middle school teachers” says Blake. His ultimate goal is to open the minds of individuals who are in the transition stage of their life. Whether going from high school to college or college to the real world. The book covers all aspects.

When asked what is one tip he could give a high school student preparing to attend a College/University, Blake responded with “Stay Focused”.

As a former college student and having the chance to experience every aspect of the college life, staying focus definitely played a huge roll in receiving my degree. Blake is an exceptional motivational speaker and gets an enjoyment out of making a difference. He goes on to say ” I made it a mission to impact youth in Missouri City, TX where I spend my adolescent years”. Blake has donated several of his own books to young adults further showing his commitment to helping the youth.

The old saying, “It takes a village to raise a child” has much truth behind it. Believe it or not your parents did not raise you on their own. It is almost vital for a child that is growing up to be taught lesson from someone outside of their household.

Many students that attend a Historically Black College or University can attest to not having all the resources needed or enough preparation before enrolling. As the author, Blake assures this book is the go to item on the market. Creating the hashtag #TransitionU and #MovingHope, allows his followers free daily motivational quote on Instagram and twitter.

This book is Blake Simon’s first publication and can be purchased on Amazon or his personal website www.BlakeMotivates.com. For any personal inquires feel free to contact him via email at info@blakemotivates.com
