Review of Pretty Girls Like Trap Music

2 Chainz truly put on for the culture and for the community with his new album. Rapper 2 Chainz, previously known as Tity Boi, released his fourth studio album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music. The album has features from Nicki Minaj, Swae Lee, Trey Songz, Drake, Monica, Gucci Mane, and Pharrell.

Musically, the album is a combination of 2 Chainz classic flow, along with some singles that could carry the album well over the summer. Big Amount featuring Drake has been gaining traction since the winter and was featured on 2 Chainz mixtape, Daniel Son; Necklace Don. Along with singles, the album boasts tracks of Chainz delivering straight bars on Sleep When U Die and Trap Check. On the contrary, tracks like It’s A Vibe ft. Trey Songz, Ty Dolla $ign, and Jhene Aiko and 4AM ft. Travis Scott create a more laid back sound for Chainz and the featured artists

From a marketing standpoint, 2 Chainz integrated The Pink Trap house to help promote the release of his album. Located in his home city of Atlanta, The Pink Trap House did a phenomenal job at becoming a staple in social media posts for Atlanta tourists and locals alike. Outside of being a dope location to take pictures, the Atlanta native gave back to his community by transforming the house into an HIV testing facility with games and giveaways for the community.
Pretty Girls Like Trap Music is more than a powerful album, but proof that hip-hop can be a force in marketing as well as community change.
