Tips To Help Your Spring Break Less Stressful
Valentine’s Day is over and now its time to wild out for Spring Break 2018. Have you already planned for your trip? Are you ready for Cancun, Barbados, or South Padre? While being in college its hard trying to get everyone on one accord. Especially if someone did not save some of their refund money for the big trip. Whether you are a procrastinator or control freak, here are a few tips, sites and apps that may help your Spring Break be “LIT.”
Travel Somewhere That Every College Student Won’t Be In Attendance
Its cool to be different. You don’t have to go where everyone else in the university is going, though it would be fun. The common Spring Break destinations are already booked so that means the prices have increased since Spring Break is near. No worries here are a list of places that you can visit and still have the same amount of fun as you would if you were in Puerto Rico.
- New Orleans, Louisiana “Party Every Night”
- Vancouver, Canada “Airbnb as low as $22/night”
- Ensenada “Little Cancun”
- Myrtle Beach, South Carolina “Cleanest Beach”
- Punta Cana, Dominican Republic “Safest Destination”
Airfordable – “Layaway Plan for Flights”
This amazing site allows you to pay for your flight within 4 weeks. You just take a screenshot of your flight details from major airlines. Then put down a deposit and the remaining balance you will pay in installments up to 4 weeks before departure. Once the last payment goes through then you have your tickets. This is great for college students who can gather the money in the 4-week period to pay off that flight. Oh yeah and it’s Black-Owned!
Packing Pro – “Pack Less”
Usually when you go on a trip for a weekend, you’ll probably just need three outfits, right? Wrong, its just so hard to just pack for the exact days of a trip because you never what may happen or who you might see. This app called the Packing Pro will help with us over-packers. Just tell the app how many days you are staying, what the weather will be like or even if you will be able to wash your clothes or not. The app will offer a list of important items that you need to pack including your clothes of course, but always a reminder to renew your passport or getting vaccines. This app is great to keep the packing organized.
Travel Noire – “for the savvy, ultra-hip traveler”
“Travel Noire is an experience. Our goal is to take you from wherever you are–to a discovery of your inner explorer.” This digital publishing platform allows you to connect with our melanin travelers who share their experiences and travel tips. “We were amazed at how hard it was to find a community of travelers who looked like us, much less find high quality images or engaging stories about them online. When Zim Ugochukwu founded Travel Noire, a google image search of “black travelers” led her to six pages of black suitcases.”
