With the start of school rapidly approaching, it is that time of the year again: that time for college students from all walks of life to start thinking about how they will purchase or rent their textbooks for the semester. Well luckily for you I have compiled a and according to Textbook Rentals Online  review Top 10 list these are the cream of the crop, the best of the best if you will.

#1: Campus Book Rentals – offers free shipping (both ways), 21-Day Risk Free Returns, Live customer service and flexible rental periods with a 15-day return grace period. Unfortunately they do not offer e-textbook rentals but you have options to buy, highlight, sell and even purchase insurance.

#2: BookRenter.com – this website offers flexible rental periods up to 125 days and extending your rental is an option, if needed, free shipping both ways (for orders over $25), and a 21-day no questions return policy. Although, international shipping and e-textbook rentals are not available, if you order your textbooks before August 8th you will receive bonus time for FREE, visit their website for more details.

#3: Amazon.com – we all know amazon.com to be one of the biggest online shopping hubs, but is number three on the list of most popular textbook renting sites. They offer 4 ren

tal options including 30 -125 days and e-textbooks. You can receive free shipping with orders over $35 but free expedited shipping (2-Day) is available with an Amazon Student subscription.

#4: eCampus.com – rental periods start at 60 days with e-textbook rentals available. And according to Textbook Rental Review, it is the only listed site offering international shipping. Customers will receive free shipping on orders over $59. Highlighting is allowed and customers have the options of buying and selling textbooks.

#5: Knetbooks.com – offer customers free shipping both ways on all orders and promises to save you between 65% – 85% compared to most college campus bookstores. This company only offers 60, 90, and 125-day rental periods, buying, selling and moderate writing is allowed. E-textbooks are not offered.

These websites are definitely great options if you are looking for an alternative to your campus bookstore. But my personal favorite has to be Chegg.com which ranked #6 on the top 10 list. During my matriculation at the Grambling State University (shoutout to #Gramfam!) chegg.com was the alternative I chose and was always satisfied with their service. Not only did they give me goodies like coupons for other services such as Hulu.com and Netflix.com, but I also received a can of Red Bull, which came in handy for those late night study sessions. The rental and return process is easy and they also offer free 7-day instant electronic access to your textbook so that you can read or do assignments before your physical textbook arrives.

These websites are only a few of the hundreds that are available to you online. Do your research and use the best option that fits your wants and needs. There may also be local textbook rental companies in your area that can save you money on your supplies as well as shipping and handling. Happy saving!
