{Updated} UT Austin Stabbing Suspected Identified as Biology Student Kendrex White

It has been reported that White, who is mentally ill, said that he did not remember the stabbing, and according to an affidavit, he agreed to talk while in custody but stopped the interview at one point to say, “If I did something I don’t remember then I want to be told.”

One person has been stabbed and three seriously wounded in stabbings at the University of Texas at Austin, the Associated Press reports.

UT Police Chief David Carter identified the suspect in the attack as 21-year-old UT student Kendrex J. White, a biology major from Killeen High School.

Police got the call around 1:30 p.m.about a person with a knife who attacked or assaulted someone outside the Gregory gym.

A UT police officer saw a man, later identified as White, with a “large, bowie-style hunting knife,” Carter said. The officer drew his gun and told White to get on the ground, which he did, and police took him into custody.
Harrison Brown was killed in the attack no word has been provided as to the motive.

Within about a block, three more people were found stabbed, Carter said.
