{Video} What We’ve Known About The “War On Drugs” For Years The Rest Of The World Learns Through Remake Video

The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander was released in 2010. Told was this then that “The War On Drugs” was put in place as a tool to incarcerate millions of minorities. The book discusses race-related issues specific to African-American males and mass incarceration in the United States, but Alexander notes that the discrimination faced by African-American males is prevalent among other minorities and socio-economically disadvantaged populations. Alexander’s central premise, from which the book derives its title, is that “mass incarceration is, metaphorically, the New Jim Crow”.
