Where can you get the best ice cream and bakery cookies, where are the best pastries and hamburgers, is there good smarny food or grilled food in the Danube Bend, where is it worth sitting in or out? For sunny autumn weekends, we have brought you some wonderful places from the Danube Bend, more precisely from the Váci-Zebégény side, where we have returned several times in the last period.
Sakura – Big Sakura and Little – Sakura
This isn’t the first time we’ve recommended our favorite ice cream from the Danube Curve, which was also chosen as one of the top 10 rural ice cream parlors. We love the pistachio, peach, chocolate and mango ice cream. If you want to avoid the Nagymaros parade, we recommend visiting the little Sakura in Szokolya (Fő utca 80), where you can eat ice cream and cake in the company of a 100-year-old vine on a cozy back terrace, and parking is much easier.

Zsengélő Café and Gorka Museum – Verőce
A few minutes from the train station, we arrive at the building at Szamos utca 22, which was Géza Gorka’s former home and workshop at the same time, and now houses his world-famous ceramics collection, as well as the pleasant and cozy Café Zsengélő, where you can sip delicious coffee and ginger beer But the chocolate cake is great too. They often hold music and literary programs as well as community building events.

Messi Reticaza – Szokolia
Nearby at Sakura in Skokoli (on the other side at Fő utca 79) you can find value-for-money pancakes, where our favorites are the pistachio cream curd, and the chocolate rice and caramel apple versions. They are usually only open on Fridays and weekends, and you should hurry as they sell out quickly. We always bring a box so you can take it home. There is also a reading corner, if you want to recharge your batteries after lectures.

Edisc – Nagymaros
The wonderful little garden and pastry shop of Alíz is one of the oldest places in Nagymaros, which we love very much and we can also drink coffee from Edeske cups in the garden of the old farm or in the shop in winter.
