The 38-year-old driver from Szombathely, as usual this year, confidently took the first starting point during the qualifying session on Friday morning and thus continued his streak, this year winning all qualifications.
A kiss cornered by Sasha Lenz, who was starting next to him, after the start of the first race, the battle between the two took place through the corners, then Jimmy Anderson, who was racing in third place, spoiled the braking distance and slid into Linz’s truck from the side. Thanks to this, the European champion remained in the lead, while Linz gave up several places, and six-time European winner Yuchen Hahn finished second.
The Révész Racing driver proved untouchable in the continuity, eventually winning with an advantage of nearly eight seconds over Hahn, and three-time European champion from Spain, Antonio Albacete, finishing third.
He was astonishingly faster than his rivals in the second race held in rainy conditions as well: he outpaced those in front of him one by one and, in fact, left far behind those fighting for second and third at the same time. The defending champion quickly advanced, and although he had a 10-second penalty for going over the speed limit, he still prevailed with an advantage of nearly four seconds. The race was red-flagged in the ninth round, because one of the trucks ended up in the gravel bed and the competition court did not allow the remaining distance to run for safety reasons.
This wasn’t the end of Kiss’ dominance either, and just like on Friday and Saturday, he won the qualifying session, so he was able to start the third race of 12 laps from pole position. Case did not have a real competitor at the Nurburgring this time either, he won confidently, increasing his advantage in the overall points race.
His victory – under the reverse grid rule – meant he had to start from eighth on Sunday afternoon. He led from lap to lap, and in the last two rounds he was already able to fight for the win, but in the end he failed to beat the six-time European champion, so he has three victories and a second. place in Germany.
Kiss in the middle of the season, after four rounds, leads the EC points competition with 209 points, second Han has 155 points, third Linz has 144. Truck’s EC season continues at the end of August, at Most in the Czech Republic.
