According to a report insidethegames.biz, a portal specializing in Olympic news and sports, several Alpine regions on the borders of the three countries (Swiss Valais, French Chamonix and Italian Aosta Valley) will agree to cooperate in organizing the Snow Games. . Although Swiss officials have previously stated that they are reluctant to support the campaign, which the public considers too costly.

Two weeks ago, officials from the Japanese Olympic Committee and Sapporo announced that they had suspended the bid due to concerns about bribery scandals at the Tokyo Summer Olympics. In addition to Sapporo, Canada’s Vancouver bid is not on a firm basis, as the British Columbia provincial government announced in October that it would no longer fund hosting the Olympics. With the possible withdrawal of the two countries, only one candidate will remain to host the 2030 and 2034 Winter Games, but Salt Lake City in the United States prefers to host the Olympic Games after 11 years.

At the IOC meeting in Lausanne a month ago, a new criterion was formulated, according to which, in the name of sustainability, they would look for a host city where temperatures have been measured below zero during the Winter Olympics in the past ten years.
