The NKA Universitas Pécs men's basketball team beat Honvéd, so as a newcomer they only need one win to reach fifth place.
NKA were expected to have a tougher time against Honvéd than they did against Sopron, however, Ferenc Czerky's side can be confident of success. 5-6 in the tournament qualifiers. The duel between the two teams, which lasts for two won matches, is aimed at deciding places, and the Academy has the field advantage.
After the games played against each other in the regular season, we knew full well that this would be a battle between two very similar teams, and we were not disappointed. In practice, the match was balanced for forty minutes, although the advantage was mostly in favor of NKA. Since the Koufax team managed to increase the lead by one point from quarter to quarter, even in a thrilling match, they tied the first match of the duel.
This also means that if NKA can win in DC as well, they have already secured fifth place in the tournament. Which, let's face it, would be a pretty lavish result from a newcomer!
