Incredibly exciting gastropubs have recently opened in Budapest. This time, we've selected some of the best places so that you too can discover a new place or two this March!
David's kitchen
David and Leora Sibuyk left their mark on the fine dining table in Budapest with the famous Baraka Restaurant, and are now entering the bakery space with David's Kitchen, which excels with healthy brunch dishes, gourmet sourdough breads, Middle Eastern cakes and sumptuous sandwiches. . Coffee drips from a Sanremo lever machine, the deli section offers handcrafted granola and spreads, and the premium chocolate babka is so good it's impossible not to take a few slices home. The store is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays!

Jardin de Petros
This type of apartment restaurant appeared in Budapest in 2007, but this type of restaurant that offers an intimate and more personal dinner experience had not really taken hold. However, Zoltán Feke, who is in charge of the French bistro cuisine at Petrus, decided to open his own restaurant with his friend Zoltán Kálmán, who is behind Jardinette. How well he performed! Jardin de Petrus, which organizes evenings for a maximum of 10 people, is a new place on the capital's gastronomic palette, welcoming guests every week with a new menu and an exciting mix of rustic French flavors and wines.

La famosa
You'll find a little bit of Italy when you visit Roman-born restaurateur Stefano De Angelis' new wine bar. La Famosa on Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út is a delicatessen, restaurant and wine bar all in one, where heavenly pintsas (version 2.0 of traditional Romanian pizza), antipasti plates, excellent pasta dishes, quality drinks and friendly service ensure a great experience. Endless experience. Of course, we can take the Italian lifestyle home, where the wide array of hams and cheeses wink at us from the counter, but we can also fill the pantry at home with Italian beer and prosecco.

Spieler Biergarten
The Buda Castle district, which is also home to the world-famous Budapest Wine Festival, wasn't really on the beer lovers' map yet, and Zsidai Roy, owner of the newly opened Spíler Biergarten, wants to change that. Bringing the unique atmosphere of Munich's beer gardens to the south end of the city, Lederhosen-clad Beer Madchen carries liter jugs to tables, where a mixture of white sausages, roast pig, Bavarian pretzels and Kaiser crumbs provide solid food. The atmosphere culminates with pulsating Sarram music. If Oktoberfest has been missing from your life so far, you can make up for it here!

Manu +
The MANU+ team at our favorite pizzeria in downtown Naples has opened a new chapter in the gastronomic life of Budapest. They have moved their highly successful pizza factory from the courtyard of one of Karolyi Korot's most picturesque apartment buildings to a much larger, brighter and more visible place, a stone's throw from Nagy Vasarsarno, where they have combined the usual quality with a blue-coloured wood-burning oven. The offering remains the old-fashioned passata-based offering made with nine San Marzano tomatoes and seven thin pasta bianca waiting to flavor the day, between 11am and 10pm.

Dobay Horvath Park – sweets and bakeries
Located in Halásztel and now in Budapest, Dobay Cukrászda belongs to the VakVarjú family of restaurants, so two decades of gastronomy experience is a guarantee of high quality. The eye-catching dessert masterpieces do not disappoint, along with more delicious custards, custards and cakes, as well as wild yeast pastries, cakes and breads. Whether in the cakes or inside the suite, you can see in action that homely flair meets a touch of French elegance.
