The volume of sales of commercial residential establishments decreased by 70 percent

In March, the number of nights spent in commercial accommodations decreased by 66.2 percent year-on-year, while the number of nights spent by foreign guests decreased by 73.9 percent. Due to entry restrictions and protection measures for commercial housing aimed at curbing the epidemic, the number of guest nights decreased by 69.7 percent compared to March of last year, the Central Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday.

In March, 1,208 commercial accommodations, including 483 hotels, 523 beds and breakfasts, were opened for part or all of the month.

In the first quarter, commercial accommodations recorded 86.2 percent fewer guest nights compared to the previous year. Domestic guests spent 81.8 nights and stayed for foreigners 90.4% less.

The total sales revenue of commercial accommodations decreased by 86.6 percent at current prices and amounted to 11.1 billion HUF. Accommodation fee revenue accounted for only 14.0 percent from the first quarter of last year, 6.3 billion HUF, while hospitality revenue decreased 86.3 percent to 3.2 billion HUF.
