There is growing evidence that the Nintendo Switch can rival.
In early May, the co-founder and CEO of Valve, which also owns the digital game store Steam, sparked massive interest. Gabe Newell was just a guest star at a New Zealand high school, and a student was wondering in Q&A whether Steam would be available for game consoles or would remain a PC-only store.
The main sponsor of the dramatic game discounts replied: “You’ll see it around the end of the year,” adding to the crowd’s roar that there might be an unexpected availability of Steam on the console. This is understandable given the manufacturers of controllers, instead of selling devices, they are making their profits through factory stores.
The mystery now appears to be solved, as the founder of the well-known SteamDB web service looking at the beta code for the Steam client software points it out. For example, found references to notify low battery, buttons to toggle between Bluetooth and Airplane mode, and playlist items (Shut Down, Restart, Hold)
Depending on the code, you can listen to SteamPal on your mobile device.
It is not yet possible to learn more about this potential product, but if it does present itself around the end of the year, information about it may start to leak out in the foreseeable future.
