Cyberpunk 2077 is now directed by Gabriel Amatangelo, a GamesIndustry.biz. He will replace Adam Padowski in this position, who will henceforth focus more on the leadership roles in the CD project.
Amatangelo joined the studio in 2020 and has since become Creative Director for Cyberpunk 2077. He previously worked for BioWare as a lead designer, helping to put together Dragon Age: Inquisition DLCs and accessories for Star Wars: The Old Republic. He will also be responsible for the supplementary contents of CP2077.
Basically Badowski will make sure CD Project Red can transition to RED 2.0. Announced in April, the program is at its core and is to reorganize the studio’s operation in order to make work more efficient and kinder for developers.
There have been some changes to the CD project recently, with the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 by Mission Designer Andrzej Zawadzki and Mission Director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz also leaving the company. Although the game came out in a scandalous state and Sony disappeared from the PlayStation Store, much of the game was sold, and the CD project management got a huge bonus after that. Corrections are coming in for the CP2077, but the CD project is still awaiting Sony’s approval of the PS Store release.
