“I was at the top of the bag again only three days ago and I am not happy with this critical opening,” Health Minister Adam Vogtik said on Saturday. In Prague, in response to the fact that all shops and services in the Czech Republic that have been closed by the government as part of precautionary measures against the spread of the Coronavirus may open from Monday.
Health Minister Adam Vogtik told the conservative daily Lidové Noviny in Prague on Saturday that the Supreme Administrative Court ruling that the Ministry of Health has no right to close any business or service if there is no emergency.
“When the court’s decision is not binding, I recommend sticking to the full opening deadline of June 14. “ He pointed out that although the situation is constantly improving, the risk of a resurgence of the epidemic has not disappeared.
In the Czech Republic, the state of emergency imposed at the beginning of October last year ended. Although the Czech government gradually relaxed measures restricting economic and commercial life, some entrepreneurs were dissatisfied with the pace and filed a lawsuit, claiming that the Ministry of Health has no right to restrict its activities again once the state of emergency is lifted. The Supreme Administrative Court granted them justice, forcing the government to lift restrictions more quickly.
The Czech government will gradually lift the restrictions starting in early May, and they are all scheduled for June 14. However, based on the court ruling, the Cabinet decided that as of Monday, all stores and services can operate normally while complying with guarantees. Basically this means wearing a mask and in restaurants, proof of vaccination or a negative test. So on Mondays, the interiors of restaurants, beaches, health hotels, casinos, clubs, discotheques and indoor sports facilities will also open.
The epidemiological situation is gradually improving. The number of confirmed infections daily fell to 454 on Friday, down 217 in less than a week, and is in line with data released at the end of August last year.
On the other hand, the number of vaccinations per day is on the rise, as it has already exceeded one hundred thousand vaccinations per day in the second half of the week. The total number of vaccines administered so far is about 5.14 million. Both doses were given to approximately 1.45 million people. In the Czech Republic, only vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) are used. Currently, children as young as 16 years old can apply to get the vaccine.
The number of deaths from the coronavirus epidemic has so far reached 30,101, while the average number of deaths per day in April was 84, it decreased to less than 10 last week. The reproductive number of the epidemic spread is still less than one (0.67). (MTI)
