In the first quarter of 2022, Madame Tussauds, the world’s first complete franchise system, will open in downtown Dorothea Street. telex.
While the Panoptics to date (22 in total) have been invested to the central right holder, British Merlin Entertainments, the owners of Madame Tussauds on Dorotea Street will be Hungarians paying the franchise fee for use of the right. For now, the secret is who the numbers will be, how much the ticket will be, and how many visitors plan the project each year. However, Telex has learned that 50 “handmade” pieces are being made for Budapest in Acton, west London, the only working factory.
The Hungarian organizing company is Dorottya Experience Kft. Its largest owner is construction contractor and champagne manufacturer József Kreinbacher, one of the richest Hungarian businessmen, with whom we had a longer interview in November:
Miklos Konsch, Josef Kreinbacher’s longtime partner and the project’s economic and financial director, told the newspaper that the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ) is from Kisfaludy alone.
Due to the large amount of government support, a National Economic Impact Study was also prepared to support the reason for the state’s support for the project in the amount of HUF 3.1 billion. Accordingly, the subsidy for the Hungarian state can be repaid within 6-7 years. This is said to include only tax revenue that flows directly into the state, and the increased turnover of catering units in the county and district and their tax revenue is not even included in this, Telex adds.
