He’s seriously ill as a founding member of the Blink-182 punk band: Mark Hopos wrote on his Twitter page that he has cancer, and is currently receiving chemotherapy. He did not reveal which member of the disease was attacking him or what his condition was, but he did upload a photo to his Instagram story that was taken at the doctor. The photo later appeared on other sites.
“I’ve been receiving chemotherapy for the past 3 months,” the musician, extremely exhausted by what happened, wrote in a tweet on Twitter.
I have cancer. Suction, very bad
He continued, adding, however, that he was surrounded by wonderful doctors and friends who helped him get through this period.
Hoppus is still months away from being treated, but he is trying to remain optimistic and positive. He can’t wait to get rid of cancer and see his fans again at the concerts that he hopes will happen in the near future. Until then, he reassured everyone of his love.
Blink-182 was formed in 1992 by Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Scott Raynor. The band’s drummer was replaced by Travis Parker in 1998, and Tom DeLong also left the band in 2015, and was replaced by Matt Skippa. DeLonge was one of the first to respond to the Hoppus Declaration. he wrote:
I learned about Mark’s illness a while ago. In my own words, I would add that he is a powerful and superhuman man, with an open heart, able to push himself through this difficult obstacle.
Me too, I was aware Tweet embedCancer diagnosis for the moment now. And to add to his words he used today, I would also like to say that he is a strong and super human who crosses this difficult obstacle with a wide open heart. 👊🏼#we_return
