The International Olympic Committee announced Wednesday, somewhat unexpectedly, that the 2032 Summer Games could be held in Brisbane. We asked our former colleague, Gabor Ganschzer, who lives in the Australian city, the technical director of the Queensland Football Association, how Brisbane and Australia are preparing to settle down.

The International Olympic Committee announced, on Wednesday, that the 2032 Olympic Games will move to Australia again after 1956 and 2000. The decision was a bit unexpected and also marked the end of the traditional bidding system, however the organization had carefully considered everything before it was announced .
We reached out to Gábor Ganczer in Brisbane, former press chief of Ferencváros and the Hungarian Football Association, former journalist for national sports, who is currently the Technical Director of the Queensland Football Association and UEFA licensing coach, to share his personal experience and situation with us and his background.
Brisbane first applied for the 1992 Olympics, then failed. The desire to direct was emphasized in the run-up to the 2018 Commonwealth Games He told our newspaper Gábor Ganczer. Today, Brisbane is the world’s most dynamically developing city, and by 2032 it will be ready to surpass the unforgettable Olympic achievements of Melbourne and Sydney. Thirty-two new or rebuilt facilities with a projected budget of A$7,000 million and a total investment of A$5 billion will help. “
According to Ganczer, news of the settlement could have a huge impact on football, with both Australia’s men’s and women’s national teams arriving at the Tokyo Games, and soon local events will rain over the area, potentially leading to an important infrastructure development. Brisbane is now not only one of the host countries for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, but is now the city of the 2032 Olympics.
Also in Brisbane and Queensland, the land of new promise within Australia, the government pushed the coronavirus out of the gate for nearly six to eight months with borders closed and strictly tracked. A total of 1,700 illnesses and seven deaths remained below average winter flu numbers Ganczer said. The subtropical climate is enviable all year round, with temperatures in the southern hemisphere winter months around 20-22°C during the Summer Olympics. Those who went to Sydney for the 2000 Olympics know that Australia is capable of hosting a world-class event that is organized around the clock but that is close to the people. By the way, my first Olympics and my experience in Australia is connected to Sydney, so I personally feel that my second home, Brisbane, can host the Games for a good ten years.”
The Brisbane Olympics will currently take place from July 23 to August 8, 2032.
