Completing his 19th season in Formula One Kimi Raikkonen Oldest rider in the field: Finn will turn 42 in October.
The 2021 season has been unsuccessful so far for most of Alfa Romeo’s riders who are bragging about their Formula One start: their best result is 10th in Baku, while their best time experience is 13th in the Silver Sprint qualifying.
It is not yet known what Räikkönen’s plans are for 2022, but he denies it will be too big for F1.
“I don’t know yet how to go, this question has been asked a few times in the past year. I don’t care about records, all of a sudden they all fall apart.”
“I feel a little old in the morning, but it goes away as soon as I get in the car,” Raikkonen joked.
Based on recent rumors, Valtteri Bottas and Mick Schumacher also have a good chance of succeeding the 2007 world champion at Alfa Romeo.
“If I decide to retire, I don’t care who takes my place. That won’t be my problem anymore,” said Raikkonen, who said a few words of encouragement about Schumacher.
“You have a hard time because your car isn’t very fast. His name puts an extra load on him, but at the same time, because of his car, it’s low on expectations so you can learn with confidence,” said the Finn.
