Huawei’s new high-end devices arrive without 5G

AIDA64 v6.33 released - HWSW

Demonstration and capabilities have been severely stamped out by US sanctions.

Yesterday, Huawei Technologies lifted the veil on its latest high-end smartphone with some slippage compared to the usual timing. The P50 and P50 Pro models, currently only available in China, come with the manufacturer’s operating system called Harmony OS, but due to US sanctions, the devices will lack 5G connectivity.

The interesting thing about the new top-of-the-line model is that different models use different system chips, so while some models will have the Snapdragon 888 SoC under a US commercial license, others will be based on Huawei’s own system chip, the HiSilicon Kirin 9000. In addition to the 8 Or 12GB of system memory, the P50 Pro has up to 512GB of RAM, while the smaller version comes with only an 8GB model with up to 256GB of storage.

The two models differ slightly in size, the P50 Pro comes with a 6.6-inch, 120Hz, 1228p display, and the P50 comes with a 6.5inch, 90Hz, and 1224p display. The back of the P50 Pro houses a four-camera photo recorder in two circular parts, while the P50 has one lower camera for taking photos and videos.

There is no information yet that members of the Huawei P50 series will ever appear outside of China, however, it tells us that the Hungarian representative of the company has not sent a press release to the Hungarian media about the debut this time.
