Amazon has moved filming for its Lord of the Rings trilogy series from New Zealand to Britain, MTI reports. The first season has been completed in New Zealand, which has been the home of the franchise since its inception, but the next season, according to Deadline.com, will be chosen in a new location starting next January.

The sets of the series will be transferred to Britain, but it is not yet known exactly where the shooting will be.

J.R.R. Tolkien (1892-1973), whose writings are based on the film series, was an English writer who designed the county of Middle-earth according to the climate history, fauna, and flora of rural England. However, the Oscar-winning Lord of the Rings film trilogy was filmed in New Zealand by director Peter Jackson.
