a Journey to Planet Savage Its developers are back under a new name: already after the renaming raccoon logic The Montreal-based studio has been pushed by Chinese tech giant Tencent with more startup capital. The studio has reclaimed its rights to Journey to the Savage Planet and is already working on a new, unannounced project (the sequel?).
The founding members are:
Alex Hutchinson (Creative Director, Co-Founder; former Director of Far Cry 4 and Assassin’s Creed III at Ubisoft Montreal, having previously worked at Electronic Arts on Spore, The Sims 2, and Army of Two: The 40th Day);
Reid Schneidert (studio director, responsible producer, co-founder; co-founder of Warner Bros. Montreal was Batman: Arkham Originsen and Batman: Arkham Knighton; formerly Electronic Artsos: Army of Two, Army of Two: The 40th Day, Battlefield Vietnam, and in Ubisoft also turned in the first part of Splinter Cell);
Yannick Simardot (Chief Technology Officer, Co-Founder; Senior Programmer and CTO at Ubisoft on the first two parts of Watch Dogs; previous work: Army of Two, Army of Two: The 40th Day, Spore at Electronic Arts; Senior Engine Programmer at Eidos);
Eric Bilodeau (Artistic Director, Co-Founder; Batman: Arkham Originsen was the lead art artist at WB Montreal; his previous work was Shaun White Skateboarding, Far Cry 2, Mighty Quest for Epic Loot);
and Marc-Antoine Lussiert (Director of Artistic Design, Co-Founder; previous positions at Ubisoft Montreal for Assassin’s Creed, Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed Unity In case; His previous works: Syberia, Myst 4).
In a press release, Hutchinson wrote that they are excited to be back with an excellent new team, and Tencent’s investment is a huge help to them, as they can do a lot of things themselves before they have to negotiate with publishers. They love structured games, have a sense of humor and a big heart, which elicits players’ reactions. Based on that, they are working on something that they will show soon.
Schneider added that they will continue Typhoon StudiosIt will also be based on the Journey to the Savage Planet franchise. He thanked Tencent, Google Stadia and 505 Games for their support, many helping to implement the game we just mentioned. Their team has expanded with many talented individuals.
