According to information provided by the Education Office on Monday, 11-12 high school students living in Hungary and neighboring countries can participate in the first announced competition in History, Biology and Chemistry.
The aim of the competition is to enable outstanding talented students to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in a particular science. The goal of the program is to show that it is worth studying and immersing yourself in the field of science – they emphasize in the communications sent to the MTI.
As they write, the TV finals show how science manifests itself in our daily lives through exciting and creative assignments. Those interested will be able to explain a number of everyday phenomena in the show, as well as learn about interesting historical contexts.
Nearly 3,500 people took the test, fifty from history, 48 from biology and 49 from chemistry in the first competition last November. From the regional round held in February, eight students from each major participated in the TV competition.
The semi-finals and semi-finals, as well as the finals, consist of a pair of competitions: spectators are directed by the competitors for a week in the world of history, biology and chemistry.
Students are judged by a jury of famous scientists, and three jurors can help or even unsure of competitors solve tasks. Diverse questions include tasks that require a short one-word answer or a longer argument, and science-initiating competitors offer different in-studio experiments. Winning requires not only knowledge, but also speed, dexterity and good performance skills.
On the M5, the show runs at 5:30 PM on weekdays, 6:30 PM on Saturdays, and 6:30 PM on Sundays. The finals will be broadcast on Sunday nights September 12, 19 and 26, when it will be revealed who this year’s Young Scientists will be. Prizes will be handed over to the winners by the Minister of Human Resources Miklós Kásler.
