Index – Abroad – Australian Prime Minister is very reluctant to travel to the Climate Summit

It is doubtful whether the Prime Minister of Australia will attend the 26th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP26). BBC. Scott Morrison recently described the trip as stressful in an interview, and said he doesn’t yet know if it will happen.

It has recently become clear that Australia will be one of the countries that will have the hardest time persuading change at the Climate Summit. This would be more than that if the country’s Prime Minister was not present at the meeting.

It will be another trip abroad, and I have already spent a lot of time in quarantine

Scott Morrison spoke about the Climate Summit in a recent interview. The prime minister also added that he would have to deal with opening up after the coronavirus pandemic at that time. There will be a lot of problems to be solved, he said, and a lot of everyone will have to answer.

Foreign Minister Marise Payne said on Monday that if the prime minister did not travel, Australia would still be represented at the conference with significant representation.

The 12-day Climate Summit will take place in Glasgow in November this year, with many expecting major changes and new commitments on climate policy from the meeting.
