In August, domestic guests spent 1.9% more guest nights in commercial accommodations than the previous year and 1.4% more than before the outbreak in August 2019. Compared to August 2019, the number of guest nights spent in hotels decreased by 27.7%, although domestic guests spent 3.4% more nights and foreigners by 59.5% less.

The number of guest nights spent in commercial accommodation establishments was 17.5 percent lower than in January-August last year, while local residents used Hungarian accommodation establishments with 8.7 percent and foreigners 37.3 percent less than overnight stays.
