Curtain for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita: the last nail in the coffin?

Curtain for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita: the last nail in the coffin?

Somewhere you have to think about the time gone by on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita platforms (although one of them was undervalued in the West).

A few months ago, we wrote about PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable (PSP) and PlayStation Vita PlayStation Stores Sony will shut down. Players on two platforms did not like it. While a lock has already been put into the PSP portal (the emulation or download will remain after that – perhaps a used trade for UMDs), for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, the “blues” have fallen behind, so with the arrival on the PlayStation 5, the two older platforms have survived.

But for official purchases, time is slowly running out, and she’s one step closer to shutting down the PlayStation Store. So from October 27, we won’t be able to buy from PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita on the PlayStation Store with our credit or debit card, and PayPal won’t work anymore. Top-up in these ways will not work either. Sony attributes this to the fact that direct purchases from the PS3 / Vita pair are no longer secure, and this may also be a kind of transfer to the PlayStation 4 / PlayStation 5. (Should the disputes move to the Nintendo Switch…?)

You can also buy this way: Open the PlayStation Store from a PC, mobile phone, PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, then top up your PS Store balance from a credit/debit card or PayPal, perhaps with a gift card We can also do this. This is an inconvenient solution, but it is nothing straightforward, let’s not deny it …

It’s been a long time, so to speak, as the PlayStation 3 will be on the fifteenth in November and the PlayStation Vita on the tenth in December – (PSP’s successor launched in Japan on December 17, 2011). Sony may not really want to keep the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita server infrastructure alive anymore, as the number of players on both platforms will likely be a fraction of the PlayStation 4 / PlayStation 5 pair.

However, that’s down to Sony itself: Jim Ryan’s back-to-back support against Microsoft is almost in a big range – it’s thought-provoking that they couldn’t even solve PlayStation 3 support on PlayStation 5.
