Prime News – Siemens Infrastructure ships zero-emission electric buses in Australia

Custom Denning, one of Australia’s leading bus manufacturers, has selected the locally designed and manufactured Siemens electric bus charging stations and digital station management solution for the Element electronic bus.

With a share of 21 per cent, trucks and buses represent the second largest segment of Australian transport gas emissions. Therefore, state governments are pushing for a switch to low-emission transport through Australia. New South Wales, for example, aims to make its entire fleet of 8,300 buses zero-emissions by 2030.

The Siemens Sicharge UC system covers the full power range from 50 to 600 kW and can operate up to 1,000 volts, providing optimum flexibility for the design of electric bus stops.

“Given that charging infrastructure technology can change rapidly, it is beneficial for local manufacturers to work with a leading supplier such as Siemens.” Happy Scott Dunn, CEO of Custom Denning.

Siemens’ intelligent warehouse monitoring solution also enables intelligent shipment scheduling. Thus carriers can take advantage of lower rates at night to ensure that all of their electric buses reach their target charging level by morning.
