The European Commission is closely following changes in the Hungarian scientific world, EU Commissioner for Research Maria Gabriel told Euronews.
Walking in Budapest, the politician agreed with the government to transform the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the organization of universities into institutions, more precisely with Minister of Innovation and Technology Laszlo Balkovic. “There is no bargain on the freedom of science. I think we need to preserve it if we want to continue to see science, research and innovation as the basis for our common development. “Horizon Europe is the world’s largest public program to support research and innovation. It has a budget of 95.5 billion euros. The program runs until 2027 and funds research on a wide range of topics from health to the world of food.
