Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal defeated South Korean club Pohang Steelers 2-0 in the AFC Champions League final on Tuesday.
Nasser Al-Douzari advanced from Riyadh in the 17th minute of the match and awarded a penalty kick in the 63rd minute, allowing Moussa Mariga to score.
This was Al Hilal’s eighth success and fourth in the Asian League. Pohang Steelers reached the finals for the fourth time and lost for the first time.
The winner of the series can start in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the UAE early next year. There is only one place left for the seven-team tournament: the winner of the Copa Libertadores of South America is still unknown, and Saturday’s final will be played by two Brazilian teams, Flamengo and Palmeiras.
Chelsea will start in the semi-finals where the holders of the prestigious European Cup series – with Hungarian second coach Zolt Lo – and Mexico’s Monterrey and Egypt’s Al-Ahly – like Al Hilal – join the fray. While earlier.. in the first round of the fight, the New Zealand city of Auckland and the island would host each other.
