Biden took the lead from Trump in Georgia
Democratic candidate Joe Biden officially took the lead in Georgia on Friday, after the announcement of a new round of results.
As of 4:30 a.m. EST, the former vice president is in progress with 917 votes with thousands of ballots remaining to be counted.
Biden is captured and then passed by Trump in the traditional red state due to the onslaught of mail-order ballots from Democratic counties. Democratic voters have used early voting and postcards across the country more than Republicans.
Georgia is crucial to Trump’s re-election, but it is not essential to Biden’s path to the White House.
The state has not supported a Democratic candidate for president since 1992, when Bill Clinton won the state by 13,000 votes. Trump beat former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Georgia in 2016 by 211,141 votes, or 50.4% to 45.3%.
Clayton County, represented by the late Representative John Lewis, was one of the counties that put Biden first in Georgia.

No state was called up on Thursday in the presidential election, but Friday could be the day the election ends when most of the remaining states that have become a home-wide battleground hit count and even call some races.
Biden starts today with 264 electoral votes to 214. This means that Biden needs to win one of the remaining four battlefield states. All of them are expected to make significant progress or to finish counting completely.
One of those crucial states is Georgia, where Democratic candidate Joe Biden took the lead on Friday morning as the vote continued.

In Pennsylvania, major counties such as Philadelphia counted overnight, and the president’s progress there waned.
Biden gained ground due to the onslaught of mail-order ballots from Democratic counties.
Arizona and Nevada to finish
Voters can also expect updated results Thursday morning from Arizona, as Trump has been narrowing Biden’s lead, and Nevada, with Biden leading by 11,500 votes.
An estimated 190,150 uncounted ballots remained in Nevada on Thursday. According to the Reno Gazette JournalIt is part of the USA TODAY Network.
State election officials announced that nearly two-thirds of that total had been mailed back or delivered in person on Election Day. The remaining 66,596 votes were cast by registrants on the same day either in person on Tuesday or during the state’s two-week early voting period.
About 90% of the votes cast are in Clark County, southern Nevada’s bastion of the Democrats where the party built an alarming advantage of 89,000 over the Republicans in early turnout.
