Barcelona welcomed Osasuna at the Camp Nou on Sunday evening in the 28th round of the Spanish League, as they easily scored 4-0 with a good match, making them flounder against Sevilla, bringing the podium within close range. The team played in complete dominance throughout the match, with Ferran Torres doubling in goals and Dembele doubling in goals, while Osasuna took the match out with almost no advantage.
The special feature of the match was that Pique played for Barcelona in the 600th match. Araujo missed the start as he was warned with a yellow card not to play in the next match due to the El Clasico ban against Real Madrid on Sunday 20 March, so Xavi put him to rest, but also Young, Dembele and I started again on the right.
The first situation had to wait 10 minutes when, after a quick attack, Dembele started from the edge inward and hit the ball just wide. Three minutes later, the referee awarded a penalty when Jaffe started inside the penalty area, and in a duel with Nacho Fernandez, Osardo defender Ricardo de Burgos Bengotexia was found guilty. Ferran Torres sold the penalty with confidence, 1-0!
Torres could have scored another goal after a combination of free kicks from Dani Alves and Jordi Alba, but the ball rebounded in front of the Spanish striker, who was unable to score. The in-depth starts worked very well, and the Pamplona squad didn’t know what to do. In the 21st minute, after a beautiful act, Dembele stepped inside and crossed a cross to Ferran Torres, who also scored his second goal, 2-0! Torres shone, shortly after he managed to score a hat-trick shortly after his singles win with Nacho Fernandez, but David Garcia slipped his shot in valiantly.
Barely six minutes after the second hit, the third has already arrived: after Dani Alves’ bike streak, he passed to Dembele, who handed the wrestler to Aubameyang, and the Gabonese striker arrived in perfect condition, scoring his fifth goal in Barcelona this year, 3-0!
Nacho Vidal could have added a goal to the visitors’ lead if his free kick had been a little shorter. Zeker could have formed, but the teams did not get to the shot, and this also applies to Barcelona, where opponent central defender David Garcia has defended himself on several occasions. The first half ended with a 3-0 lead for Catalonia.
At the beginning of the second half, Pique stirred up excitement in front of his own goal: he cheated, stumbled on the ball, but, fortunately, was sent off. Dembele could have scored in the 48th minute after a series of sensations, but Aridan saved the French winger – who gave Aubameage a goal almost a minute later but missed.
Pedri’s goal came from a questionable 0-1 penalty kick but Pique fired the ball into the net without a second thought. Catalan’s attempts and dominance continued to distinguish the second half, scoring in the first 15 minutes. Over an hour later, he was replaced for the first time by Xavi, who sent Lenglet onto the field in Piqué’s place, as the Catalan defender was unable to continue the match due to a minor injury – at least his thighs had to be immobilized.
Barcelona continued to attack, and although at times they were more comfortable with a three-goal lead, more situations came. The referee did not doubt and issued a penalty for Badri in the 69th minute. Perhaps it was also surprising that Puig was a substitute, and it was an “extra” that he scored a superb goal two minutes later. Herrera was still able to defend his first shot, but then collected his keeper and calmly rolled into the net after a cold-blooded trick, 4-0! Then, Memphis could score from Dani Alves’ pass when he tried to “kick the scorpion”, but the Dutch striker had no luck.
The match ended in Catalan success with four goals, putting Barcelona on the podium in this round and bringing two more points to Seville again, leaving second place not too far – 5 points each time, but with a match the team played less. . In the next round, Xavi will play Real Madrid away from home, which will be preceded by the return match in the quarter-finals of the European League against Galatasaray on Thursday evening. In other words, Barcelona will play two very important matches next week, and this knockout win will probably give them extra confidence.
