British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Monday after visiting a nuclear power plant in Hartlepool that support for nuclear power is key to keeping Europe permanently separate from Russian oil and gas.
Britain has always paid close attention to nuclear energy, and there have been developments in a number of areas. While maize, for example, provided only 9.4 per cent of the UK’s energy supply in the early 2000s, in 2020 the same was already 21 per cent.
And by 2050, the amount of electricity generated by nuclear power plants will double.
Johnson has now stated that according to a decade’s worth of nuclear power plant construction, he wants to build such a facility every year, because that’s the only way he thinks so.
To provide clean, reliable and safe energy to families.
