Russell won the second practice, in trouble with Red Bull and Ferrari

Mercedes driver George Russell won his second free practice session in Miami, which was interesting in many ways. During practice we also saw a broken Ferrari and a Red Bolt with a technical problem.

Like the first training, Mercedess excelled in the new location. In addition to the young Briton, Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, also took the lead. The updated W13 runs under the British class and takes the top-of-the-line fourth.

While the tournament champions excelled, the two top teams wrapped up a mixed day. At Ferrari, Carlos Sainz got upset again after he smashed the red car badly at the start of training. The Spaniard has been out of fitness since Australia, and although he received an extension to his contract, Mattia Binotto may not have forgiven this kind of suffering for long. However, Charles Leclerc did well again and finished in second place.

At Red Bull, Max Verstappen hit the bar again. The Dutch driver’s car started smoking in the middle of the practice, which was bad for him because he also had problems during the first practice, which made him miss important moments. However, Sergio Perez brilliantly grabbed and finally took third place.

From midfield, McLaren and Alpine were the best, with Fernando Alonso fifth and Lando Norris sixth. In addition to these, Pierre Gasly, Guanyu Zhou, Esteban Ocon and Kevin Magnussen also took the top ten.

Tomorrow is a continuation of the third free practice, which will take place at 19:00 Hungarian time at the competition’s new location on the East Coast of the United States.
