Honor has created a brand new smartphone that wants to reap laurels among the devices with entry-level devices but 5G connectivity. In addition to the 5G modem, the Honor Play 30’s most attractive features include a high-capacity battery, headphone output, and expandable storage.
The front of the Honor Play 30 is occupied by a 6.5-inch HD+ display, and a stand-alone 5-megapixel camera is housed in a drop-shaped sensor island at the top of the LCD panel. The design of the back of the device draws a lot from the iPhone world, but it’s far from equipped with powerful photo-capture units like Apple’s manufacturer phones. The square camera design includes two circles, one of which features a 13 MP camera and the other an LED flash.
The spirit of the Honor Play 30 is a Snapdragon 480+ chipset with 4 or 8 GB of RAM, depending on which configuration you choose, and 128 GB of storage anyway, plus expandable storage. You can use a micro SD card up to 512 GB for this. Of course, 128 GB of storage will not be entirely ours, it will run the pre-installed Android 11, which the manufacturer will add to its user interface Magic UI 5.0.
Of course, the hardware and software only last as long as there’s cocoa in the 5,000mAh battery installed under the phone’s hood, which can only be charged with 10-watt adapters, but through at least one USB-C port. Other notable data connectivity options include the aforementioned 3.5mm jack, Bluetooth 5.1 module, and dual-band Wi-Fi.
It is not yet known how much Honor Play 30 will be available, but we are not expecting very serious prices. The phone is now available for those interested in China, who will be able to choose the novelty in shades of black, blue, gold and white. There was no mention of international distribution at the moment, but we wouldn’t be surprised if Honor, which is only working to strengthen its global presence, launches the device in Hungary as well.
