Dyson has revealed to the public the most important clues yet about the path it takes on the future of home robotics.

The Dyson short film debuted at the International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) in Philadelphia, the world’s largest event on robotics and automation, providing an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Dyson Laboratories. At the event, the company, which was famous for its vacuum cleaners, explained that the development of a device that can perform household and other tasks is in full swing.

In the three-minute video, the company’s chief engineer, Jake Dyson, guides the viewer through parts of the secretive research and development lab at Hullavington Airfield in Wiltshire, and shows the latest features of the company’s designed robotic hands, such as how to grip objects, that the company is ready to go beyond robotic vacuum cleaners. .

The company also said it was halfway through the largest hiring campaign for engineers in its history. This year, 2,000 people joined the technology company, 50% of whom were engineers, scientists and programmers. The company is now hiring 250 robotics engineers in areas such as computer vision, machine learning, sensors or mechatronics, and plans to hire another 700 robotics engineers over the next five years.
