New antivirus update for Windows 11 is disabled

Those who have chosen one of the particular antivirus software can face problems.

There is clearly still room for improvement in Windows 11, as there is no doubt about it Microsoft is working hard to improve its latest operating system. Its protection is absolutely great, Windows Defender keeps malware away, but anyone who wants extra security can use a third-party antivirus.

Of course, even with the best intentions, dust can get into your device, and the update brings not only fixes, but also bugs. This time, too, something like this happened, and very important programs are involved in it.

Optional Update KB5014019 for Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 has also caused a compatibility issue with several Trend Micro security products. Specifically, the User Mode Hooking or UMH component is affected, which can cause problems with many more serious features, such as ransomware protection.

The following Trend Micro products will be affected:

  • Worry-Free Business Security – Advanced 10.0
  • Worry-Free Business Security Services 6.7.1
  • Apex One 2019
  • Apex One as a Service 2019
  • Deep Security 20.0.0 Update
  • Deep Security 12.0

To mitigate the situation, in principle, not all users are affected, and since this is just a preview update, Microsoft is expected to address the shortcomings.
