Abortion bans took effect automatically in Kentucky, Louisiana, Arkansas, South Dakota, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Alabama. It will be introduced in Mississippi and North Dakota after being approved by the attorney general. It will take effect in Wyoming within five days and must be approved by the Utah legislature. In Idaho, Tennessee and Texas, the bans will take effect within 30 days.

Thousands of protesters in New York moved from Washington Square in Manhattan to federal court and then to Brooklyn due to the abolition of federal guarantees of abortion rights. Meanwhile, users posted photos and videos of similar events in Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Seattle on social media. In Phoenix, Arizona, police detonated tear gas after pro-abortion protesters knocked on doors and windows of the state capital.

In Iowa, they drove a car between protesters, which was also recorded. At least one person was reported injured.

“Night of Rage” calls for the Supreme Court’s abortion decision began circulating on social media on Friday. Major pro-abortion groups and organizations rejected such calls, and stressed the need to maintain the peace of protest.
