Few people know that the original Halo was planned to be released as a real-time strategy game, and a Mac game, and that project quietly disappeared and the style changed, but now 343 Industries is bringing many of its elements to the Master Chief Collection.

The developers had access to working copies of the never-finished game, from which they could draw a lot of ideas, and they would even port vehicles, environmental items and characters to the modern version, because, according to their claim, the game from the past millennium is full of good ideas.

As 343 employees say:

The RTS-era vehicles are very interesting from a historical perspective, but it wouldn’t be easy to integrate and have a little bit of support data (textures and animations) that look good from a first-person perspective.

We also don’t know what the objects were planned for at that time, and what their function was, since there are no design documents from a particular era, and we can only infer little about the game mechanics from the objects at that time. We are still working on this process, we need more time.

Those special items When will they arrive in Halo: Master Chief Collection and exactly what form will they be left to seeHowever, the developers claim that players will not have to wait long.
