Recently, we have also introduced a number of accommodations where guests can rest their heads among the tree leaves. Due to design difficulties, these are often the only accommodation options, and there are few similar options in its vicinity.

However, the situation is different in a German village: there are almost a dozen such houses in one place – with a twist. Near the town of Seelbach in the Black Forest, Faházfalu is one of the attractions of Schwarzwälder Hof’s holiday paradise, home to a total of ten accommodations built on artificial trees, which are spread around a central lookout point. The ten-meter-high houses, built from materials provided by the neighboring forests, each have two bedrooms with two balconies, a bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. During the construction of accommodation suitable for 2-6 people, care was taken that the construction and subsequent maintenance would be environmentally friendly, preferably climatically neutral. For example, 80 percent of electricity demand is supplied by solar panels, and every single piece of furniture is energy efficient.

This is probably not how people will approach accommodation, so every home has a parking space. These houses can also be a starting point for a tour: the Rhine is about a stone’s throw away, but Donaueschingen is also an hour and a half drive away – the source of the Danube is here. Accommodation costs €300 (Ft123,000) per night for two during peak period, ie on weekends, but on weekdays you can enjoy the adventure in a treehouse for €190 (Ft78,000).
