According to the IMDb rankings, Stranger Things and Bojack Horseman also took the number one spot.
Since 2013, Netflix has produced an incredible amount of original content for its subscribers. And while quantity often seems to matter to them, they’ve managed to deliver quality series, too: in 2021 alone, for example, Netflix original shows won 44 Emmys — more than any studio or streaming service provider.
With Netflix’s seemingly endless budget, they can really compete with just about anyone: The final season of Stranger Things, for example, feels more like a feature film than a traditional series. The streaming service’s programming attempts to cover the widest range of genres, from science fiction to comedy and historical dramas to criminal fiction. But which one is the best? The collider I recently compiled this list based on IMDb user reviews, which looks like this:
10. Dark (2017-2020) – IMDb: 8.7 / 10 (based on 361 thousand votes)
9. Mr. Sunshine (2018) – IMDb: 8.7/10 (based on 7,200 votes)
8. Stranger Things (2016-) – IMDb: 8.7/10 (based on over 1 million votes)
7. House of Cards (2013-2018) – IMDb: 8.7 / 10 (based on 497 thousand votes)
6. The Crown (2016-) – IMDb: 8.7 / 10 (based on 194 thousand votes)
5. Narcos (2015-2017) – IMDb: 8.8/10 (based on 409 thousand votes)
4. Peaky Blinders (2013-2022) – IMDb: 8.8/10 (based on 507K votes) – It should be noted here that this is a self-produced BBC series, only Netflix owns the distribution rights
3. The Black Mirror (2011-) – IMDb: 8.8/10 (based on 524 thousand votes)
2. Bojack Horseman (2014-2020) – IMDb: 8.8/10 (based on 147 thousand votes)
1. When They See Us (2019) – IMDb: 8.9 / 10 (based on 117 thousand votes)
