Trump supporters storm the Capitol

Today, Congress will count the electoral votes in America and then verify that Joe Biden has won the 2020 presidential election. The action has begun, and Vice President Mike Pence has announced that he will not block the appointment of Joe Biden. Update: The meeting has been suspended due to the storming of the Capitol.

Supporters of Donald Trump staged a protest against the appointment of Joe Biden in Washington, DC, with the president himself taking part in the demonstration.

Police set up barricades around the Congress building, the Capitol, but protesters broke through the cordon and attacked the police.

The Capitol was closed and two buildings around it were evacuated.

Trump supporters stormed the building and entered the Capitol, where they now fight the police protecting the building.

Update: The congressional session during which Joe Biden was to be declared the winner of the presidential election has been suspended and the evacuation of representatives has begun. Already Vice President Mike Pence and Senator Charles Grassley have been moved to a “safe place”.
