Totalcar – Magazine – Tesla Model 3 long-range commands suspended

Those who have been waiting for a Tesla Model 3 Long Range so far will be disappointed: the massive slip-up related to orders The manufacturer has removed this configuration from its website in the US and Canada. For now, consumers will have to settle for the cheaper rear-wheel drive Model 3 or the performance version.

On Tesla’s website, the long-range version of the Model 3 isn’t entirely gone, it’s grayed out and says it’ll be available in 2023 — as opposed to previously planned deliveries between November 2022 and January 2023. Customers will continue to receive the other two models from October to December.

Elon Musk has stated many times before that his team’s biggest challenge isn’t increasing demand, but production. A few days ago, he also wrote on Twitter why the 3 Long Range won’t be available for this year: “The waiting list is currently very long, but we will allow orders again soon to speed up production.”

Despite the aforementioned outages, other automakers can’t compete with Musk: In the second quarter, Tesla delivered more than a quarter of a million cars, the vast majority of which were Model 3 and Model Y. In addition, Tesla plans to increase production to 2 million. unit by the end of this year, which could seriously exceed the goals set by traditional brands that also produce electric cars.
