According to the court, the National Press Service (OS) rightfully refused to publish one of the statements of the Democratic Alliance. The ruling stated that the operating system has the right to refuse to publish any advertisement that could be deemed appropriate to violate another person’s privacy rights, MTI reports.

The court thus confirmed the previous final decision. It was not clear from the MTVA announcement which ad the National Press Service had a problem with.

“According to the decision of the highest judicial body, it does not follow from the provisions of the Media Services and Mass Communication Act regarding the National News Agency that any person has the right to demand the publication of a specific advertisement within the framework of the OS service,” read the statement of the MTVA’s Press and Marketing Office. It also states that the contract also provides for the public media service provider’s right to refuse advertisements.

According to the court’s decision, the Democratic Alliance as plaintiff is obliged to pay the defendant’s procedural costs Duna Médiaszolgáltató Nonprofit Zrt. There is no room for revision against the court’s ruling.
