There was a 5.8 earthquake near New Zealand

An average earthquake of 5.8 magnitude occurred near Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, and appeared at sea on Monday, and there were no reports of damage so far.

The epicenter was located 30 km northwest of Levin, and the earthquake nest was at a depth of 37 km. MTI writes that the first earthquake was followed by a 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7 aftershock.

The first reports did not report any damages. No tsunami warning was issued. In Wellington, trains have stopped for safety reasons after the earthquake.
